Welcome to the first edition of our Cameo Caregivers Newsletter! We are excited to have this opportunity to share helpful information and Cameo news with each of you. This year marks our 30th Anniversary of caring for Houston area families. We would like to thank the staff, clients, and families who have been a part of our long history in this community and look forward to many more years of caring.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month
As October comes to a close, don’t forget to truly learn what breast cancer is,the causes, and it’s risk factors: Learn the facts here: NationalBreastCancer.org .
1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime
When should you get tested or screened for breast cancer?
You can start getting tested as early as in your twenties. Report any changes in your breast to your provider right away. Breast self-exam (BSE) is an option for women twenty and up. A clinical breast exam (CBE) should be done every 3 years for women in their 20s and 30s and every year for women in their 40s. Mammograms starting at age 40 and continuing yearly. Adult women of all ages are recommended to perform breast self-exam at least once a month!

You may increase your risks of breast cancer when eating unhealthy foods, smoking, drinking alcohol, and more. Learn how to lower your risks on BreastCancer.org.
