In Home Senior Assistance Care FAQ
Cameo Caregivers is licensed by the Department of Aging and Disability Services to provide Personal Assistance Services (PAS). We can assist with bathing, dressing, transfers and ambulation, incontinence care, grooming, medication reminders, light housekeeping, meal preparation, errands and appointments, laundry, and pet care.
Cameo Caregivers requires applicants to be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or to have had at least one year’s experience working as a caregiver under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). At Cameo, applicants are also required to pass a competency exam on caregiving skill. Applicants who are unable to pass this exam are not considered for employment at Cameo. Our caregivers also receive opportunities for ongoing training and participate in required educational inservices.
Medicare, Medicaid and most medical insurance policies do not cover non-medical homecare services. Methods of payment are private pay, long-term care insurance, and some Veteran’s benefits. Please check with your long-term care provider or the Veteran’s Administration to confirm your eligibility for coverage.
At Cameo Caregivers, we are committed to ensuring that you are satisfied with the caregiver assigned to you. Compatibility is an important component of a successful homecare relationship, so we strive for the best possible match to your needs and preferences.
While doctors often recommend homecare services, a doctor’s order is not required to initiate services. The client or their appointed decision maker may initiate homecare services.
At Cameo Caregivers, our caregivers have had criminal background checks. We are licensed, bonded, and insured. Additionally, our caregivers must pass pre-employment drug screening.
At Cameo Caregivers, we can accommodate schedules from 1 hour up to 24 -hour care and 1 day up to 7 days per week. The hours and number of days per week that your caregiver is assigned is based upon your needs and preferences. If your needs, change, we can change your schedule accordingly. We provide care for both short-term and long-term needs, so there is no long-term commitment.
Our caregivers are supervised by experienced healthcare administrators, which provides an exceptional level of leadership to our team.
Cameo Caregivers can provide assistance in your home, apartment, hotel, a family member’s home, the hospital, and in independent, assisted living, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation facilities. The type of care we provide depends upon your needs, as well as where we are providing care.
After our initial phone call with the potential client or appointed decision maker (usually a family member), one of staff will come to you to conduct an assessment, which will help us create an individualized plan of care. We can start services within a few days, or the same day in emergency cases.
